April  2008

www.doctoruke.com

This is a great site recommended by my friend, Jim Beloff. The site creator is a REAL life doctor, Dr. Uke a.k.a. Dr. Jim Rosokoff. This is one of the best beginner sites I have seen. PDF's of simple songs, with mp3's and combo of music theory, and music language. This site really has no peers. It stands by itself, as a great site for all beginning uke players.

March 2008

ukuleleunderground.com

This is a great overall uke site and the first site to do a Webcast ukulele only open mic. They are led by Aldrine Guerrero. Aldrine and others are committed
to spreading the joy of ukulele. They have many ukulele instruction videos my Aldrine and other UU (ukulele underground) members.
They have plenty of intermediate videos, ukulele reviews, and uke site links. Plus, a newsletter, forums, and articles to better the uke player.

February 2008

www.ukefarm.com

They have a 24/7 web radio station with nothing but uke music. They also have some nice free ukulele chord fonts for making your
ukulele music. They have a blog, ukulele web site link, and a few other goodies.

January 2008

www.ukulelehunt.com

This is a great site with a great deal of music, uke videos, and all around information plus blogs, and events about the uke. The creator has a very addictive disease known as Obsessive Ukulele Disorder. I too am afflicted by this very condition, but I do NOT want to be cured.

December 2007

www.ukuleleland.org

These are the Aussie people from down under. Now, we know Aussies are kind of British knockoffs, but we love them anyway. The big kahuna is Rose Turtle Ertler. She deserves a lot of aloha for organizing these motley crews. She is a good uke player too. These wonderful people know how to have fun with an ukulele. The number of ukulele groups is impressive, and they have some wonderful names. You just can’t keep a Aussie uke player down.

I am not making these names up: The bad groaner puns are mine.

 Melbourne Ukulele Kollective

This group likes to get down and dirty with the ukulele. They like to MUK it up as they say.

 PeninsuLa Ukulele Kollective

This group likes to pick and PLUK their ukes.

 Balman Ukulele Klub

This group likes the ukulele, and they like to BUK trends.

St. George & Sutherland Community of Ukulele Musicians

This group of respectable ukulele musicians, others like to call them SSCUM.

 Hob art Ukulele Group

These people love their ukes. Give them a warm smile and HUG, when you see them.

 Channon Ukulele Group

These people slurp it up when they play. Just keep playing and CHUGging with these uke players.

 Brisband Ukulele Musicians Society

This is my favorite group name. They are not just a bunch of ukulele players. They are a bunch of BUMS.
"Dear, can I join this uke group? You can dear, but those uke players are ukulele BUMS."
