'Set your goals high, and don't stop till you get there.' -- Bo Jackson

Aloha,

Material to be covered this Thursday, August 16th 2007.

Beginning ukulele : 'I Am What I Am' by Roy Sakuma & Jill Chinen. This is a great song written Roy Sakuma. Roy founded Hawai'i foremost ukulele schools. This song comes off his 'Play the `Ukulele with Roy Sakuma' DVD.

Intermediate ukulele: 'Somewhere over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World' by IZ. I finally laid out the structure of this song  properly. Everywhere I have seen it posted. Parts are left out, and/or the phrasing is off. The strumming is difficult, and takes some practice to get it right, and more practice to sustain it through the entire song. You need a low G (GCEA) 4-string tuned uke to make this strum sound right. I will email the PDF to anyone that wants a copy.

There will be no class on Sunday, August 19th. I will be attending a family gathering. Regular meetings will resume in October.
